I had my PFA test today for AFROTC. The PFA is a physical fitness test where you are ranked on how many push-ups and sit-ups you can do in a minute, and how fast you can run a mile and a half in.  It was my first time doing it.  I haven’t been to many sessions where I got to actually workout because I didn’t have my physical in earlier in the year, so I only got to work out once, do a practice PFA test, and the other days were light workout days because we were preparing for the test.  I think that I did okay on the test.  I worked as hard as I could.  I am a little upset with how many push-ups I got, but it wasn’t bad.  Since I haven’t been able to go to PT often, I know that I can a better score the next time we have the test, I’m not worried about it.  The test is extremely important because it ranks you against everyone else in the program, and your ranking can decide your career in the Air Force when you enlist, so this test is one to take seriously.  There is a maximum score you can get, so my goal by the end of this year is to max the score so that I don’t have to worry about someone doing better than me on the PFA.  I am also now motivated to get an outstanding GPA cause that plays the biggest role in the ranking.  I’ve wanted to become a pilot ever since the first time I was in a plane in 3rd grade, so I will definitely work hard for this one.  I will obtain my goals, and I will succeed.

  1. I'm sure you did great! Sounds like a tough test, one that I know I wouldn't be able to do well on. Good luck next time!!

  4. John, pretty much everyone passes, it's more so how well you do on the test that really matters.
